Call for Chapters

The call for chapter proposals is open for the scientific book Emerging Assistive Technologies in Education: Mobile, Wearable, and Immersive Solutions, an edited volume to be published by IGI Global, with a NAID member as editor.

This book aims to gather innovative scientific contributions that explore the role of emerging assistive technologies in education, with a particular focus on mobile, wearable, and immersive solutions, as well as their potential to promote inclusion, accessibility, and personalization of learning in different educational contexts.

Context
Rapid technological advances in the areas of artificial intelligence, mobile learning, wearable devices, augmented reality, virtual reality, and immersive environments are profoundly transforming teaching and learning processes. When integrated into an inclusive and user-centered design perspective, these emerging technologies can reduce barriers to learning and support the active participation of learners with diverse profiles and needs.

In this context, it becomes essential to deepen research and the sharing of innovative practices related to the design, implementation, and evaluation of emerging assistive technologies, both in formal and non-formal/informal educational contexts.

Topics of Interest
Chapter proposals addressing, among others, the following topics are welcome:

Mobile technologies supporting inclusive learning
Wearables and sensors for educational support and accessibility
Augmented, virtual, and mixed reality in inclusive educational contexts
Immersive technologies and adaptive learning
Artificial intelligence applied to emerging assistive technologies
Accessible and innovative learning environments
Non-formal and informal education supported by emerging technologies
User-centered design and co-design of assistive technologies
Case studies, empirical research, and design-based approaches
Ethical issues, privacy, and equity in the use of emerging technologies
Target Audience
This book is intended for researchers, teachers, graduate students, instructional designers, educational technologists, developers, and policymakers interested in the areas of educational technologies, assistive technologies, inclusive education, and emerging technologies.
