Despite being consensually recognized as an important tool for the inclusion of people with disabilities, assistive technologies/products are still little known by the general public and, in particular, by teachers and technicians who deal with people with disabilities. Since 2005, NAID has been developing activities to disseminate AT to schools, centers, IPSSs, communities and the general public, as a way to directly or indirectly promote their use and the improvement of the quality of life of people with special needs.

In order to divulge and promote technological solutions that allow us to compensate for the difficulties these people have in activity and participation, we organize several types of initiatives with the most diverse publics, but with special emphasis on the school community.

We regularly hold sessions/workshops to demonstrate technical aids to special education teachers and organize support sessions with children and teachers/monitors from Schools and Private Social Solidarity Institutions. We have responded to requests for actions of dissemination or demonstration of good practices in the area of digital inclusion and accessibility.

Also important has been the role of the various initiatives developed internally, with a view to integrating the theme of digital inclusion, either in initial teacher training courses, (future disseminators of inclusive policies) or in articulation with the internships of the Social Education course, with which has developed interesting initiatives of work with technologies.
